The Music We Hear...

So I had to make this blog for a class I took last semester, not until I realized what major I wanted to persue that I wanted to continue this blog. However I don't want it to be just photos, even though they are a lot of our world, so is music. The music we hear on a daily basis can put us in a great mood, a sad mood, or a really dark mood. For whatever the reason I've decided to watch One Tree Hill from Season 1 all over agin (for the 5th time) and go through all nine seasons posting about the songs and the stories that are played in every episode. For me this show sort of shaped me into the person I am today. So what if it sounds cliche but it's true. We've all said it but I think we all can relate to it in someway. The music they had on that show made me fall in love with music and do not take it for granted! So starting tonight I'm going to make a post for every episode of One Tree Hill and post about the music and story lines right here!! Please join me on this journey I take into this magical musical world!

Episode 1:
"There is a tide in the affairs of men, which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. But omitted in the voyage of their life is bound and shallows and miseries on such a full sea are we now afloat and we must take the current when it serves or we lose the ventures before is."

Lucas quotes this from Julious Ceaser at the end of the episode, right after he has won the one on one basketball game and taken claim of what is rightfully his, the spot on the Varsity basketball team. He now becomes a Tree Hill Raven. He knows by becoming one of "them" he has to prove not only to himself but everyone else that he is good enough and better than Nathan. He's faced with the decision to accept the role on the team or go on living his life in the shadows. He decides to become a Raven, and be an unkindness...

One song they play during the episode is:
"Hands Down" by Dashboard Confessional
I've always been a fan of them but not until I watched OTH did I really enjoy them and the meanings behind their songs, they are featured a lot through out the series and I'm glad they are.

Another song I enjoyed was the song played right after Lucas wins the game:
"Rest in Pieces" by Saliva
I like how they put this one in, almost like it's threatening Nathan from Lucas, watch out little brother you're going down.
